For the Fritters:

  • 1 ½ cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • ½ teaspoon baking soda
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • ¼ teaspoon nutmeg
  • 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • ½ cup whole milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 tablespoons melted butter
  • 1 ½ cups diced apples (Honeycrisp or Granny Smith)

For the Glaze:

  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 tablespoons milk
  • ½ teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • Mix the dry ingredients in a large bowl: flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, cinnamon, nutmeg, and both sugars.
  • Whisk the wet ingredients in another bowl: egg, milk, vanilla extract, and melted butter.
  • Combine wet and dry ingredients gradually, stirring gently. Fold in the diced apples.
  • Drop spoonfuls of batter onto the baking sheet, leaving space between each.
  • Bake for 12–15 minutes or until golden brown.
  • Make the glaze: Whisk powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla extract in a small bowl.
  • Drizzle the glaze over slightly cooled fritters.
  • Serve and enjoy warm!
