For the Fritters:
- 1 ½ cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- ½ teaspoon baking soda
- ½ teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- ¼ teaspoon nutmeg
- 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
- 2 tablespoons brown sugar
- 1 large egg
- ½ cup whole milk
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2 tablespoons melted butter
- 1 ½ cups diced apples (Honeycrisp or Granny Smith)
For the Glaze:
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 2 tablespoons milk
- ½ teaspoon vanilla extract
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Mix the dry ingredients in a large bowl: flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, cinnamon, nutmeg, and both sugars.
- Whisk the wet ingredients in another bowl: egg, milk, vanilla extract, and melted butter.
- Combine wet and dry ingredients gradually, stirring gently. Fold in the diced apples.
- Drop spoonfuls of batter onto the baking sheet, leaving space between each.
- Bake for 12–15 minutes or until golden brown.
- Make the glaze: Whisk powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla extract in a small bowl.
- Drizzle the glaze over slightly cooled fritters.
- Serve and enjoy warm!
