Instructions
- Slice the cucumber thinly and lightly salt the slices. Let them sit for 10 minutes, then pat dry.
- Spread a thin layer of butter on one side of each bread slice to prevent sogginess.
- Spread cream cheese over the buttered side of half the bread slices.
- Arrange cucumber slices evenly on top of the cream cheese. Sprinkle with salt, pepper, and fresh herbs if desired.
- Top with the remaining bread slices, buttered side down.
